Around the Art World in 52 Weeks – Kate Shaw, Australia

Thursday, March 12 2015

Kate Shaw is an accomplished Melbourne-based artist who specializes in creating landscape paintings that are beautiful and stunning on the surface but deep down, conceptually, toxic. Shaw paints the psychedelic landscapes to convey the idea of pollution overlaying with nature, beauty and creativity.

In 2014, Shaw had solo exhibitions in both Melbourne and Hong Kong and her work also toured to museums throughout Asia.

Do you sense a hint of artificiality in the context of a toxic environment in Shaw’s exquisite composition?
